As discussed last night we're proposing a run to cat & fiddle.

DATE AMENDMENT - DATE WILL BE SUNDAY 14TH JUNE

The Cat And Fiddle is a road in the United Kingdom running between Buxton, Derbyshire and Macclesfield, Cheshire, named after a public house at its summit. Formed by parts of the A537, A54 and A53 it is famous for its scenic views across the Peak District National Park and the Cheshire Plain and for its many bends. It is extremely popular with motorcyclists, and is regularly classed as one of the most dangerous roads in the UK.
Usage
It is one of the only two roads into Macclesfield from the east, and as such carries long distance as well as local traffic, including heavy goods vehicles. It is also carries tourist traffic into the Peak District National Park including bicycles and walkers. It also forms part of the well-known ‘Cat And Fiddle – Long Hill – Highwayman’ triangle, which is particularly attractive to motorcyclists because of the frequency and severity of the bends. Given this mixture of usage, the number and sharpness of the bends and the fact that it is not uncommon to encounter straying livestock on the road, it is necessary to employ a great deal of caution. Bad winter weather can additionally make the road very hazardous.

Now I know it says its the most dangerous road, this is relevant ro motorbikes and not cars so much. Bearing this is mind we need to do it before the summer sets in and we have bikes swarming round us like bees.

so.. get your names down and if the date is good for you

Because of the nature of this road will be taking the radios and the convoy will (depending on numbers) be in two sets as to not make us dangerous for other road users.

Don't worry about changing it just for me, will come another time. All the other sundays in that month there is something on or I'm working. So keep to your plan, thanks for offer.

just been reading in mcn about the cat and fiddle run. they were testing 3 bikes up their. This road is heavily policed their are both marked and unmarked cars and bikes, a spotter plane and possibly average speed cameras. the speed limit is 50mph. have always wanted to go on this road on the bike but never got round to it. So would be brill to go in the scooby, but can i let you know a bit closer to the date please.

Cool, have to dig the sat nav out from somewhere now seen as the scoob doesn't come with one fitted or a tv!
Still puts a bigger smile on my face then the Jag ever did though.

I could but just swapped stereo and fitted the hands free back in.
Need to keep my eyes on the road anyway, things seem to approach very quick for some reason!?
Anyway I'll have a read about this road seen as I'm on nights, first glance seems like it could be fun.
